Personality: Kid suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD, which is manifested as an obsession over symmetry, otherwise known as asymmetriphobia. Things (and people) must be perfectly symmetrical, lest something unknown and awful happen. Thus if anything is off by any measurement (a picture frame off by millimeter, or a pose that is slightly out of place), he will try to correct it right away, even at the expense of the mission at hand. His favorite number is 8, not only for its symmetry, but for the fact it divides out evenly. The fact that the left half of Kid's bangs are marked with three white stripes causes him much stress. He has attempted to dye his hair all black to cover these; however, due to some curse, it rejects the hair dye and soon returns to normal.
Showing Kid anything that is too asymmetrical or mentioning his forehed will send him into an episode of massive anxiety, which normally requires encouragement from his friends to break. In the most extreme of cases, Kid will cough up blood and faint. However this obsession does not just leave him weak. If he sees anything perfect or symmetrical get broken or destroyed, or if an opponent is severely asymmetrical, it will send Kid into a blind rage (surprisingly similar to his father's previous violent personality) where he will unload all of his power to either destroy the offensive sight or person. His obsessive-compulsive outbursts aside, Kid is actually a fairly sophisticated character. He is even smart and cool-headed in battle (if symmetry doesn't enter his mind). He usually is rather serious, and doesn't show much emotion (again, so long as he isn't thinking about symmetry). There is also a boyish side to him too. He doesn't appear to have any problem socializing and genuinely cares for his friends.

Description: Death The Kid is always dressed in a refined manner, mostly because of his status. He limits his main wardrobe to a standard black business suit with white rectangles, until later on in the anime series when he is seen wearing a white coat instead of a black one. The rectangles are placed in a manner that is completely symmetrical. There are at least six small rectangles along the seam where the sleeves attach to the jacket, and four small rectangles run along the front of his jacket. It is possible that these shapes could be replacements for buttons. His undershirt is a formal white dress shirt, and a metallic skull rests under his collar, and could be used as a tie. His color scheme is meant to copy his father's, where the only color variation between black and white is the color of his eyes.
In the manga, Kid's suit has now been replaced with the Spartoi uniform consisting of a white dress shirt, black tie, a white sports jacket, with a white dress or suit jacket over it with a symbol on the left sleeve, navy pants and white shoes.
Kid's most notable feature is the three white lines that cut across the left side of his hair, stopping in a completely straight line along the front and back of his head. When one or more line becomes connected, his power increases exponentially. Kid, however, greatly hates these lines because they throw off his physical symmetry. Mentioning these lines will send him into a fit of anxiety or during which he curses his own existence, calling himself an abomination. When enraged with madness, several black lines appear over Kid's mouth. These give the appearance of his mouth being sewn shut.
